I think one of the best ways to manage anxiety and stress is by doing something proactive.
Although you can’t control what’s going on in the world around you, you can pay more attention and tune in to your self-care :
what you put on your plate
making sure to get good sleep
reading an uplifting book
limiting the news
positive human interactions
breathing deeply
exercising
starting a meditation practice
emerging yourself in nature.
These are all good ways to help shift your nervous system into a more parasympathetic state = rest, digest + heal.
This is how we are supposed to be the majority of the time, in this calm, relaxed state.
Unfortunately, these days we have to ‘work’ at it.
