Go Fund Me Page

 

1.      Where did the money from the Gofundme page going to?

All of the funds collected will be distributed to the instructors that taught and administrators that helped run the group. We thank all 125 people who donated. Because of your donations, I have been able to have such great instructors and have been able to run this group so smoothly!!!!

 

2. What happens if I just became a member of WIFF in the last 2 weeks and made a large donation?

If you just recently made a donation and only joined in the last 2 weeks, please contact Jennifer directly by messenger.

 

Live and Recorded classes

 

1.  Where will the live classes be offered?

As of May 9th, all live classes EXCEPT ZUMBA will be offered on our new Gear Up For Fitness Live Page on Facebook.

 

2. Do I need to sign up for the classes on Facebook?

We encourage you to sign up through the Gearup.fitness platform in order for us to keep track or members as we as for you to stay connected to the Gear Up For Fitness Community for contests and special events and news.

 

3.   Is there a limit to how many classes I can do live?

There is no limit

 

4.   How do I register for a live class on the Gear Up App or Website?

From the app home screen, click on the + sign at the bottom/center of your screen.  You will see a choice to “Join Class”.  Click on “Join Class”, this will take you to the schedule of the day.  Choose a class on that day and click “Join” at the bottom of your screen.  From the website, log into your account, click on the 3 white lines at the top of the home page. Click on schedule and click on the class that you want to register for.

 

5.    How will I know that I am registered for a class?

As soon as you click on the class that you want, it will tell you. You will also receive an email confirmation to the email address that you provided upon registration. Please make sure that you check ALL of your junk and spam folders for the email from Gear Up For Fitness

 

6.    If I can’t do a live class, where do I find the recorded classes?

Recorded classes except for Zumba will be available on the Gear Up for Fitness Live Page. Zumba will not be available.

 

7.    How many classes will be on the new schedule?

Our schedule will offer 26 live classes of varied intensity and style. Please visit our website to see the schedule (www.gearup.fitness).

 

8.   What happens if I can’t find the email with the link of the Zumba class that I registered for?

The link to the Zumba classes will be posted on the Gear Up for Fitness community page

 

9.   Why aren’t Zumba classes available to watch after the live class?

Unfortunately Zumba is only allowing their instructors to teach using the Zoom Platform but will not let their instructors store their videos on any platform and we do not want our instructors to risk loosing their licences. Therefore Gear Up For Fitness has added another Zumba class to the schedule to accommodate members who can’t watch live classes.

 

 

Zumba Classes

 

1.      Why can’t Zumba classes be live on Facebook?

Do to licensing issues, our instructors are not allowed to offer Zumba classes on the Facebook platform.

 

2.  Where can I watch Zumba classes?

Zumba classes will be on Zoom. They are the only classes that will NOT be on the Facebook page.

 

3.  How do I get the link to watch the Zumba classes?

Please sign up on the Gear Up for Fitness platform and the link will be provided in the community page the day of the scheduled class.

 

 

West Island Fitness Freaks Page

 

1.   Will the previously recorded classes still be available to watch on the West Island Fitness Freaks page?

Previously recorded classes will remain on the Facebook group page until May 10th.

 

2.   Will the West Island Fitness Freaks group shut down?

No, as of May 10th, we will be renaming the group Gear Up For Fitness to reflect our new platform.

 

Membership

 

1.   How do I become a member?

Simply log onto www.gearup.fitness and click on REGISTER NOW.

 

2.   What is included in my membership?

Just like the Fitness Freaks page, you will have unlimited access to all of the live classes with your favourite FF instructors. You will also have access to the recorded classes if you can’t join live. Access to Fitness on Demand and hundreds of workout programs. Access to wellness webinars hosted by top professionals. Motivational challenges and access to the coach’s corner.

 

3.   Am I required to fill out any medical information upon registration?

Yes. Just as you would when you sign up at any health club, this is mandatory.

 

4.   Can anybody sign up or only members of the West Island Fitness Freaks?

Yes, membership is open to everyone.

 

5.  It says that I now have a 1 year contract but you said that that it is only 1 month memberships.  Am I locked until a 1 year contract?

Don’t panic!!! It has to be done this way so that members do not have to re-register every month but you can cancel your membership at ANY time with no charge by sending an email at info@gearup.fitness

 

6. I tried to sign up but it keeps saying that it has been cancelled. What do I do?

99% of the time, members have put in the wrong informations so here are some helpful hints:

A.     Please make sure that the name that you put down, matches the name on your card

B.     Triple check the credit card number that you put in.

C.     Triple check the correct expiry date as well as security code on the back was used.

D.     If all of these steps have been done and there is still a problem, send an email at info@gearup.fitness and please make sure that you include the name you tried to sign up with and not your Facebook name.

 

7. I didn’t receive an email confirmation with the link for the APP. Can I download it without the link?

Yes you can. Using any device, log onto www.gearup.fitness and log into your account using the email and password that you provided when you registered. Once you are logged in, double click on the 3 white lines on the top left of the screen and scroll down to find (mobile apps). Apple users will then click on App Store and everyone else will click on Google Store. You will then be able to download the Virtuagym app. This is our app!!!!!

8. My password is not working?

Please press on forgot my password. An email will be sent to you so that you can update and change the password. If this doesn’t work, THEN contact customer service by email.

 

9. I’m trying to register on my computer or laptop and it keeps saying “incorrect captcha”? What do I do?

Try a different web browser like Crome or Safari and if that doesn’t work, register from your smartphone or tablet.

 

 

App and Web Portal

 

1.   Is Gear up a Web Portal or an App?

Actually, it is both. There is both an App and a desktop version.

 

2.   Why can’t I find the app in the App Store?

The link to the App will be sent to you by email once you register your membership.

 

3.   Why is the app called Virtuagym instead of Gear Up?

Our Gear Up branded app will be published in the App Store in a few weeks.

 

4.   Which app do I choose? Fitness App or Food App?

Please choose the Fitness App, this is where you will be able to access the program.

 

5.   What devices can I use to watch the classes from?

You can watch from your desktop, laptop, any tablet or smartphone.

You can also screen mirror your smartphone to a smart tv to be able to see on a bigger screen.

 

6.  How do I download the App onto my device?

Questions regarding Zoom

 

1.   Do I need to get a Zoom account?

Yes, but only if you want to take a Zumba class

 

2.   Are there any zoom fees to pay?

No, the account is free

 

3.   Do I need a Zoom account if I only watch the recorded classes?

No, the classes will be stored in the Facebook group Gear Up for Fitness Live page

 

4.   Will people be able to see me while the class is being recorded on zoom if I do the Zumba class?

No, settings have been put into place so that only the instructor’s camera and microphone can be on during the recordings otherwise the audio and video will be out of sync.

 

5.   Are there any security issues with using Zoom?

On April 8, 2020, Zoom released a new version with added security features.  Zoom CEO, Eric Yuan confirmed the new version fixed the security issue that were identified. Keep in mind that we are recording a fitness class and

 

 

Pricing & Payment & Cancellation Policy

 

1.   How much does the membership cost?

Membership price is $12.99 plus tax per month.

 

2.   Can I pay on a month-by-month basis or do I have to sign up for a year?

Memberships are currently monthly but in order to avoid members having to sign up every month, the plan

 

3.    Do you offer Student or senior discounts?

Not at the moment.

 

4.   Are there any extra costs?

No. There are no other costs for this membership.

 

5.   What forms of payment do you accept?

Both Visa and MasterCard are accepted on our platform.

 

6.   Do I have to renew every month or will it automatically be deducted?

Your membership will automatically be renewed unless you cancel.

 

7.   How many days in advance can I cancel my monthly membership?

You can cancel anytime. There are no fees to cancel.

 

8.  Do I still have to pay the tax if I live outside of Quebec?

Yes, because the product is sold in Quebec, Canada.
